some pics from Christmas....
(Luc, Michael, Aunt Susan, Mitchell)
So, Christmas was great until that evening. About 11pm we heard Luc crying in bed so we ran in there and there was throw up everywhere. Poor kid had the flu. He threw up all night and morning. About 2 hours after Luc got the flu, I got the flu. Woke up in the morning and Mitchell got the flu. Our hero Daddy/Husband took care of all us sickies all day. I'm sure that was NOT fun at all. Well, that night, Jason got the flu too. We were supposed to get Sweeney family pictures that day and had to cancel. We all felt just horrible about that. Considering the state we were in, there is no way we could have made it. That is one thing I have learned about having a family. Life is unpredictable. Sometimes you have to cancel things at the last minute and it's so hard. Especially when you have been looking forward to things for a long time. It can be really disappointing but family comes first and they are what is most important :-D
Well, the next thing that happened was New Year's. We decided to stay in. Luc made it till 10pm! I think I made it to 12:03! HAHA God I"m old! Woke up in the morning and both boys were in bed with us. Some times I have no idea how that happens. I'm so out of it at night and they just crawl right in. Anyways, the boys were all sound asleep when I woke up so I snapped this picture. All 3 boys in bed together and snuggling with their blankies. Just adorable!!!

We got the best news on the 1st. We got a phone call to show the house so Jason ran into town. The people were there for 45 minutes. Jason wasn't even home 10 minutes when the phone rang and they had made an offer!!!! We were ecstatic!!!! We accepted the offer and called it a New Year's Miracle!!! I was balling, Jason was teary eyed.....we just couldn't believe it!!! We closed on the 23rd!!! What an amazing relief!!! Our rock star status is now gone and I'm so happy about that!
About 2 weeks into the new year we got a huge rain/thunder/tornado storm. We got 5" of rain out where we live. It was pretty intense with the sirens going off and we lost power for a brief moment too. We woke up in the morning and I went to get into the shower and it was cold. So, I yelled for Jason to run down and check the water heater. After a minute I hear him yelling and screaming for me to come down there. We had about 2-3 inches of water in our basement. AUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, long story short, the storm drain backed up causing our sump pump to overflow and water started seaping up thru the basement floor. We also found out that a valve that could have pumped the water into our backyard was closed thanks to our plumber who said it was illegal to do that...which it's not! Anyways, insurance wouldn't pay and we lost thousands but at least we were all okay. We have new carpet now and new furniture on the way. Luckily I had most everything in big plastic bins so most of the toys and mementos were saved!
We moved Mitchell to a big boy bed on the 6th. He made a great transition and was SO excited. We also stopped the bottle which was rough for about 3 days but he has done very well. He hasn't asked for it yet! Here is a picture of him the last night in his crib!
Mitchell's 2nd Birthday was on the 19th! I can't believe that my baby is 2 years old. All the family came over to help us celebrate. We opened presents, played with the new toys and had an awesome Thomas the Train cake!! Mitchell had a fantastic day!! Here is a picture of him with his new scooter and new Thomas desk in the background!
Well, this past month has been a roller coaster road and we hope that things will calm down a bit. We look forward to the rest of this new year and all it has to bring!!
