Childrens Discovery Museum

We went to the Childrens Discovery Museum this weekend. Luc has been there a few times and this was Mitchell's first time there. We all had a blast. Both boys played a lot at the water table. I think Mitchell could have stayed at it all day long. Luc played a lot with the choo choo train. Mitchell liked the slide and Luc liked the painting wall. This museum is located in Normal Illinois. It is such a cool place for children to go and have fun and explore. We're lucky to have a place like this so close to us!
P.S. Check out how Mitchell likes to go down the slide. It's the same way as at the playground. CRAZY KID!!!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Mommy is now 32. I remember when I was a kid and thinking that anyone in their 20's was old! I have to admit though that I love my 30's. My teen years were an emotional mess, my 20's were spent trying to figure out who I was and what I wanted to do with my life, and my 30's I've pretty much figured things out. I've got a family and I'm married, and I've got a job and I can finally relax. It's a wonderful feeling :) My family gave me the most wonderful birthday gift this year. They wrote me a letter, gave me a lot of money and told me it was for a "Mommy shopping spree!" There were rules attached to the letter such as "you can't spend it on your kids or husband, you can only spend it on clothes, Daddy has to come with me on my shopping spree to make sure I spend all the money on myself." The reason this gift was so wonderful and thoughtful is because I never spend money on myself anymore. All my money goes to my family. In the past 3 1/2 years, I have maybe bought 3 new shirts for myself. I have to admit, when we were out shopping that I had the hardest time spending the money on myself. I felt so guilty because I could think of a million things the money could have gone too. As the day went on I got more into it and was more excited. After the day was done, I came home and Jason had bought me a cookie cake. MY FAVORITE!!!! Luc and Mitchell helped me blow out my candles. It was an absolutely wonderful day!!

I LOVE GUM

There is not a day that goes by anymore where we don't hear the phrase "I want some gum." Thanks to Grandpop Owens (I had to rat you out Dad!) Luc loves gum.....and not just any gum. It has to be the gum that Grandpop has. Eclipse Winterfresh is his gum of choice. Sometimes I forget I gave it to him and hours, and I mean hours later, I'll look over at him and he's still chewin' away. Sometimes it mysteriously "dissappears." It's either hidden in the house somewhere, or in the pits of his stomach where all the other little piceces of gum seem to end up. I swear he's got at least 20 pieces in there already. That scares the heck out of me too. What if he continues to swallow his gum? It's in there for 7 years right??? Will his stomach eventually fill up with gum leaving no room for food? Will he eventually balloon up like Violet Beaugregard? Believe me, that has become a daily thought in my head! One day I put him to bed not realizing he still had gum in his mouth. After about 30 minutes I hear him giggling. I go into his room and he's got his gum wrapped all around his fingers and all over his PJ's. That was a ton of fun to clean up! Mommy was not happy that night!! Lately, I have begun telling him repeatedly that he has to put it in the transh can when he is done, or give it to me or Daddy. It's not working too well. He's such a little stinker!

!!Happy Easter!!

The Easter Bunny came!!!!!!!!! He got us so many goodies. We got a lot of toys to play with at the pool this summer as well as really cool inner tubes! We can't wait to go swimming! We also got some cd's, a movie, CUBS t-shirts and a big chocolate bunny. YUM! We had a lot of fun playing with the Easter grass too. We went over to Aunty Tammy, Uncle Rob and Tristin's house for Easter dinner and it was so good. We had a lot of fun over there and even went on an Easter Egg hunt in their basement. Grandma Owens filled up the eggs with candy and quarters and Tristin and Mommy hid them.
Mitchell and Grandpa Sweeney got really tired in the afternoon and took short naps.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

As you can see, we had a wonderful Easter. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter too!

Love,
Luc and Mitchell

Mommy and her Boys

There are moments that happen in my life that I hope I never forget. This was one of them. Luc decided not to take a nap today so I layed in bed with him and we watched Tarzan....or...."The Monkey Movie" as he refers to it :-) Mitchell had been napping for about an hour and woke up. Daddy went in to get him and brought him in to see us. He was really cranky so I had him lay on me and he fell back asleep within minutes. The three of us layed there for over an hour. The pure love that courses through you when you have children is unbelievable at times. My boys mean the world to me. I love that they are still young enough to cuddle and give hugs and kisses. I know I'll miss it the older they get. For now, I will treasure every minute with my precious little guys!!

Easter Eggs and Tales from a Dr. Visit

Luc and I had SO MUCH FUN coloring Easter eggs today. He has been bugging me all week to do it. I stayed up late last night to boil the eggs so we could color them today. I picked Luc up early from Shelly's and told him we were doing 3 things tonight. First, we were going to the Doctor for his 3 year check up. Second we were going to make Tacos for Dinner, and Third, we were going to color Easter Eggs and he was Soooooooo excited!

Luc had to do something new this year at the Doctor. He had to do a urine test so he had to pee in a cup. So, before they took all his measurements and vitals and stuff, they handed me a cup and pointed us towards the bathroom. Well, for the next 15-20 minutes, we stood at the toilet. First Luc would cry, then he would laugh, then he would play with the toilet handle (flusher), then he would get mad. I think he was a little freaked out by the whole "peeing in the cup" thing. So, I tried a little bribary! I told him he could get a lollipop if he peed in the cup. Well he wouldn't so we left the bathroom. The rest of the appointment went fine. He's up to 32 1/2 pounds now and is 39 1/4 inches tall (3' 3"). He had to have his finger pricked and was looking at me when the nurse did it. He screamed out OWWWWWW! and then hit the nurse in the shoulder. I was mortified, Luc was crying, and the nurse was laughing. Anyways, the Dr. finally comes in and does his check up. All is good and he is right where he is supposed to be for his age. Before we leave, we try the cup one more time and HE DID IT!!!!! And boy oh boy was he proud of himself!! He left that bathroom, marched right up to the counter and asked for his lollipop! The minute we got home he told Daddy all about how he "peed in a cup!" Oh, the things you are proud of when you have a 3 year old son!!!!
