Happy Thanksgiving

This holiday brings back so many memories for me. Growing up we would always be surrounded by tons of family on my mom's side. We'd spend all day running around like maniacs, playing with our cousins, grandma, aunts, uncles and parents, playing games, sneaking food out of the kitchen hoping our moms/aunts/grandma wouldn't catch us, and trying to sneak behind a certain someone's bar to catch a glimpse of the "inappropriate drinking glasses" that would somehow lose their clothes if cold liquid were poured into them. HAHA If you are laughing right now you know exactly what I'm talking about! The smells all day were wonderful and football on the tv was a must. I remember one year my sister and I making a HUGE snowman with my cousins John and Jim. I'll never forget that. I remember being called to the table for dinner and all the food being passed. There was usually some kind of animal that my dad or Uncle had recently killed while hunting that I would try too. I always loved being at that table...even if it was the "kids" table because I was with my family who I loved and meant everything to me.

As I've gotten older Thanksgiving is the same to me but means a little bit more. I'm Thankful I get to spend the day with my family and cherish it just a little bit more. I get to help my mom in the kitchen and watch my own kids run around like maniacs stealing little bits of food throughout the day. Football is still on the tv and board games will definitely be played. And when we all sit down for dinner I still look around the table at everyone sitting there and think what an incredibly lucky person I am to have such a wonderful family. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Halloween from the Sweeneys!

Please meet Jango Fett and SpongeBob Square Pants!!! What a FUN weekend we had!!! Saturday Jason and I went to the annual Halloween Party at our friends house and had a blast. These were by far our most favorite costumes. It was so much fun being hippies :-) Grandma Sweeney kept the kids overnight so we could have a fun adult only night. Trick or treating yesterday was cool. The kids really got it this year and were literally running from house to house with their friends in the neighborhood. They got lots of candy too. We had a ton of trick or treaters this year. We went through 5 bags of candy plus the candy the kids didn't like. We had to turn our light off at 7pm. How crazy is that?! Thank you to Auntie Amy, Aunt Ruth, Uncle Chris, Baxter, Aunt Tammy, Uncle Rob, Grandma Sweeney and Grandma and Grandpop Owens for all the candy/cards/book/$$!!! That was very nice of all of you! Hope you all enjoyed your Halloween as well!
