The Easter Bunny still came though so he was happy about that. While he was home with Daddy, Mitchell and I went to church and then over to Grandma and Grandpop Owens house for brunch and a super duper Easter egg hunt. Being the only kid in the hunt he made off like a bandit!
The kids also had Easter parties at school. Mom went to those and watched as the kids had parties and egg hunts. It was a fun time!
Luc had his first friend from school over to play this month. It's his best friend Logan. We went and picked him up and he stayed till dinner time. The boys had a blast playing together. Luc and Logan hang out at school and are know to get in trouble and "start things" together.
My 34th birthday was this month also. My two best friends, Tina and Christa, and their husbands Pat and Doug came over to our house to help celebrate. For years now we have all gotten together for our birthdays. Tina's is the 19th, mine and Pat's are the 22nd. We had a blast as usual and acted like 12 year olds which is usually what happens when we get together. We were so happy to see them and spend time with them. I miss them so much. They live in Rockford, IL and New York so we only get to see them once or twice a year. The boys completely surprised me this year. Jason had taken them to the mall where they picked out "beautiful rings" for me for my birthday. I wore them to work the next day and they were a hit and brought huge smiles to peoples faces :) They also got me a cookie cake which was delicious!
A few days after my birthday Luc had his first overnight at his friend Logan's. They picked him up and took him back to their place. Jason and I were really nervous but he did great! They dropped him off at noon the next day and he was really sad. I went over to talk to him and he said he was sad because he missed his friend Logan. So sweet :) 
This weekend I also ended up in the hospital. I thought I had had a stroke. They admitted me and I was there for 3 days. After multiple tests they thought what I had was called Complicated Migraine and sent me home. My symptoms got worse over this next week and I ended up back in the hospital for another 3 day stay. More tests were run and the doctors were still baffled. They thought I had bening positional vertigo on top of the migraine problem. So, after being sent home again, they set additonal doctor appointments up for me with a physical therapist and neurologist. It's now 1 month later and they still don't have an exact answer for me. My neurologist wasn't sure so I'm getting a second opinion at the end of the month. My physical therapist things it's vestibular disorder which is a vertigo problem of the inner ear, and also Cervical spine disorder which is a vertigo problem of the neck. The therapy seems to be helping and offering relief. I'll be curious to hear what the second neurologist has to say. I haven't been able to drive since April 25th and I'm hoping to try and drive starting tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.Grandma Sweeneys birthday was in May and she came over to celebrate. We had an awesome dinner of "Sweeney Meatballs" which are my personal favorite, and a delicious cake. Luc and Mitchell had fun helping Grandma blow out her birthday candles.
The big even this month was Luc's Graduation from pre-school. They had a big ceremony at his school. All the kids dressed up and had on caps and gowns. They sang 2 songs and then each got their diplomas. They had cake and lemonade afterwards. We are so proud of Luc! He has come so far since beginning pre-school and has learned so much. He is very excited to start kindergarten this fall at his new school in Danvers. I think he wishes it would start now!!
In June we took the boys to see Dora Live at Braden Auditorium....gift from Grandma Owens. It was AWESOME! The boys absolutely loved it and sat like stone through the entire thing. Jason and I both really liked it as well. Very cool.A very sad day in my life occured on June 10th. Mom and I took my cat Iggy to the vet to have her put to sleep. I cat was 15 years old and lived a wonderful life. She was very sick and had been for a few months. She had gone from 11 pounds down to 5, had the start of kidney failure and blood sugar problems. We hated seeing her in pain and so not herself. Mom and I were with her when she died. It was very peacefull and quick. I really hope I get to see her again some day. I love her and miss her so very much. I feel like I've lost one of my best friends and it's such a sad feeling. It's amazing how your pets can wiggle their way so tightly into your heart. She will forever be a part of me!
Another big event happened yesterday. Jason and I dropped Mitchell off at the Grandma and Grandpop Owens house and took Luc to his very first Cubs game!! We took the train up, his first train ride. Luc was SO excited. I think I'll have the look on his face when he saw the train coming tattooed on my brain for life :) After being on the train for about a half hour, I talked him into going up to the dining car. He was very nervous and thought walking between the cars was scary. He got a diet coke and a snicker bar! We arrived in Chicago around 10am and Aunt Ruth and Uncle Chris were waiting for us. Luc ran to Aunt Ruth with the biggest smile on his face. It had been I think since Christmas since he had seen them. Uncle Chris drove us to Wrigley and Luc was very impressed. Aunt Ruth bought him a Cubs baseball and bat. We found our seats and Luc looked amazed. It was so cool. He bought some peanuts and ate the entire bag. He also ate pizza, cotton candy and some of my nachos. He liked looking for the few players he knew like Soriano and Fukudome. The Cubs lost 2-0 to the Twins unfortunately but we still had fun! We took the El back to Ruth and Chris's to pick up Chris and go to dinner. We went to dinner at Bar Louie's. Then they dropped us off at the train station for our ride back home. I would have to say that Luc had one of the best days of his life!
